Yoga bliss
Yoga has been an anchor in my life forever. A few years ago, without any life plan of teaching yoga, I did a yoga teacher training with an amazing teacher. And even after the training teaching yoga was not part of my life plan. A dear friend invited me to teach few classes and ever since I can't stop teaching, I have fallen in love with teaching yoga and how teaching and practicing yoga helps me get into a deeply present and meditative state.
My Yoga journey
It all began at an early age, growing up in India. I was influenced by my mother’s yoga practice, teachings at school and spirituality all around me as a way of life. Later on, I went on to have a successful career in the software profession and lived in the USA for sixteen years before moving to Bali to seek a more meaningful way of life. Yoga always remained with me through my corporate career and many ups and downs of life.
I have practiced with many yoga teachers in India, Bali and San Francisco. My most profound yoga experience was in Rishikesh, India when I practiced with a 96 year old yoga guru Swami Yogananda who was so full of life force even at the age of 96. Now I am RYT 200 teacher, teaching and practicing vinyasa flow, hatha, yin and restorative styles of yoga. My mission is to spread happiness and joy in this world through yoga and meditation. I get tons of joy from teaching yoga as I see how it makes people alive, happy and conscious. I totally believe that yoga’s healing powers can help prevent and heal common lifestyle diseases like diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, obesity etc making our world a healthier place. I am particularly conscious of student's safety during yoga and give personal attention to each and every person in my classes. For me yoga is not just about a physical practice but a deeply spiritual mindfulness practice. I bring the awareness of body, mind, breath and emotions in my classes through meditation, breath and mindfulness while having a bit of fun.
I regularly teach Hatha yoga, Yin yoga, Vinyasa flow and restorative styles of yoga. I am also a mother of 2 children and totally passionate about teaching prenatal and kids yoga. I practiced prenatal yoga for both my pregnancies and have been studying benefits of yoga for pregnancy. If you are pregnant and want to arrange a private class with me or want some tips on what to do or what not do, please contact me.
Currently I teach group classes in various yoga styles in Bali at a beautiful studio Power of Now Oasis located right on the beach in peaceful Sanur. My schedule can be found here:http://powerofnowoasis.com/classes
Contact me, if you would like to arrange for a private class.
